Whenever you add salt to a dessert it seems to make it taste a million times better. Did you have Starbuck's Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate this winter? So good. So this recipe caught my eye a while ago but haven't had time to try it till now.
Ingredients
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup and 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9 inch square pan with foil and lightly butter the foil. (This is what the original recipe said to do, but I found it extremely annoying to get the brownies out of the foil, so you may want to skip this step and just butter the pan)
2. In a double boiler, melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
3. Add the cocoa, sugar, eggs, vanilla and flour once at a time and whisk until smooth.
4. Pour the batter into the pan and sprinkle salt evenly over the batter. Use a butter knife to swirl the salt into the batter. Bake for about 35 minutes. Let brownies cool at room temperature for at least an hour before cutting into squares.
These were so good. Like give them all to your friends so that you don't end up eating them
